Mergen is for reflection, self-exploration, and entertainment. Interpretations are possibilities to consider, not medical or psychological advice, diagnoses, or predictions.
1. Using Mergen
These terms govern your use of the Mergen app and its interpretation service, provided by Serdar Coşkun (“we”, “us”). By using Mergen, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service. You must be legally able to agree to these terms or have the agreement of a parent or guardian where permitted. Mergen is not intended for children under 13.
For an app downloaded through Apple’s App Store, the app licence is governed by Apple’s Standard End User License Agreement. These terms cover our service and do not replace that licence or override mandatory store terms. Your use of the Android app is also subject to applicable Google Play terms. We grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use Mergen in accordance with these terms and applicable store rules.
Our privacy policy explains how information is handled. Agreement to these terms does not replace separate consent where required for data processing.
2. A reading is a perspective
Readings and follow-up answers are generated by AI using your chosen interpretation lens and the context you provide. They may be inaccurate, incomplete, unexpected, or unsuitable for you. Jungian, Freudian, and Metaphysical lenses are frameworks for exploration; they do not establish what a dream objectively means or predict future events.
Mergen is not a healthcare service, therapist, or emergency service. Do not use interpretations to diagnose or treat a condition or as a substitute for qualified professional advice. You are responsible for how you choose to use a reading.
3. Your journal and content
You retain your rights in the content you enter. You give us permission to process the content you submit for requested interpretations, including through our service providers as explained in the privacy policy. That permission is limited to providing the service and meeting legal obligations; it does not grant us ownership of your journal.
Only submit content you have the right to use. Avoid unnecessary personal information about other people. Generated readings may not be unique and are not guaranteed to qualify for intellectual property protection. You may save and use them for your personal reflection, subject to applicable law and others’ rights.
4. Credits, purchases, and refunds
Recording and browsing your diary does not require a subscription. Interpretations use credits. New eligible installations receive two welcome credits. Additional credits are sold as consumable in-app purchases through Apple or Google. The app and store checkout show the current pack, localized price, and applicable taxes before you pay.
A standard reading uses one credit and includes up to three follow-up questions, subject to the service’s length limits. Additional readings and conversation extensions use the credits shown in the app. Credits have no scheduled expiry, are not cash, and cannot be traded or transferred to another person. Promotional credits have no cash value.
Our service deducts credits after successfully generating a reading. A connection interruption can still prevent your device from receiving a completed response; contact support if your balance was charged but you did not receive it.
Apple or Google processes payments under its purchase rules. Request refunds through the store where you purchased; statutory consumer rights remain unaffected. Refunded or revoked purchases may have their associated credits removed. We do not promise that consumable purchases can be restored automatically from store purchase history.
5. Your device, backups, and credit balance
Your dream journal and profile are stored on your device. Your personal iCloud or Google device backup may include this data, depending on your settings. We do not hold a server copy from which we can restore your journal.
Credit balances are linked to a device identifier, not an email account. Reinstalling the app, clearing secure storage, resetting that identifier, or moving to a different device may make the existing balance inaccessible. Automatic cross-device transfer and restoration of consumed purchases are not guaranteed. Contact support before changing devices if you have unused credits.
You are responsible for protecting your device and managing personal backups.
6. Acceptable use
Do not use Mergen unlawfully, infringe others’ rights, interfere with the service, bypass credit or rate limits, submit fraudulent purchases, or attempt unauthorized access. Do not use the interpretation service as an automated bulk-generation service.
We may restrict access to the online service when reasonably necessary to address abuse, security problems, or legal obligations. Restrictions will not remove mandatory rights to refunds or other remedies. You can stop using the service at any time.
7. Availability and responsibility
Online readings depend on network access and external providers. We cannot guarantee uninterrupted availability, a particular interpretation, or recovery of local data. Features may change as the app develops. If we discontinue paid services, we will address unused purchased credits as required by applicable law and store rules.
To the extent permitted by law, Mergen is provided as available without additional promises about accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose, or uninterrupted operation. We are not responsible for indirect or consequential losses to the extent such an exclusion is lawful. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot legally be excluded, including applicable consumer guarantees, fraud, intentional misconduct, or other non-excludable liability.
You retain all mandatory consumer rights in your place of residence. These terms do not require you to waive those rights or use compulsory arbitration.
8. Changes and contact
We may update these terms as the service changes. Updated terms will appear here with a new effective date. We will provide additional notice or request agreement when required by law. Changes will not retroactively remove your mandatory rights.
